Inside Energy Transition: Innovation, investments, and concrete solutions

The July edition of Inside Energy Transition is here! Covering the Techint Group's journey to a cleaner, smarter energy future, this new edition highlights the latest breakthrough projects, bold investments, and technological developments from the Group’s companies across the globe.

In the spotlight this month is Tulum Energy, the rising star born of TechEnergy Vevntures, which has just closed a USD 27 million funding round to scale its revolutionary methane pyrolysis technology, paving the way for carbon-free hydrogen production, an increasingly competitive alternative to other forms of hydrogen generation. It’s a key step in TEV's strategy, focused on solutions with a high potential impact on industrial decarbonization.

In other news, Tenaris is making waves in Europe, launching Romania's largest self-consumption solar park at its Călărași plant. More than just a major milestone in the company’s global decarbonization push, the initiative will also provide a big boost to Romania’s clean energy goals.

In Chile, Techint Engineering & Construction is tackling the water crisis head-on, building advanced water pumping systems and desalination plants to keep mining projects running strong in water-stressed regions. The C20+ project, one of the company's largest in the country, is leading the charge, proving that smart infrastructure can provide concrete solutions to environmental challenges in the mining sector.

Another hot topic is the new strategic alliance between Tenova and Coolbrook, who’ve joined forces to electrify high-temperature industrial processes. By swapping out natural gas for renewable electricity, the partnership aims to slash CO2 emissions across energy-hungry sectors such as steel and metals.

Back in Buenos Aires, Ternium played host to a new edition of WorldAutoSteel, bringing together global leaders in automotive steel. On stage, Juan Pablo Pedraza, Ternium’s Global Director of R&D, showcased how the company is pushing the boundaries of mobility innovation through collaboration and sustainability.

Finally, the July issue also takes a deep dive into geothermal energy, a clean and constant power source gaining traction in the race to electrify. TechEnergy Ventures breaks down why geothermal is becoming a hot contender in its future-focused portfolio.
