The Techint Group company was awarded the highest distinction in its category by the Perfil publishing group at a special event held to mark the occasion.

Tecpetrol was named Best Oil Company at the annual Fortuna Awards, organized by the Perfil publishing group. The 21st edition of the awards, which recognize corporate excellence in Argentina, was held at the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange. CEO Ricardo Markous accepted the award from Fares Yassir, Morocco’s Ambassador to Argentina.

The Techint Group executive highlighted Vaca Muerta’s growing role in Argentina’s economic development, particularly in the energy sector, and the contribution of hydrocarbon production to greater macroeconomic stability. “This year, we expect the trade surplus to exceed USD 11 billion, and by the end of the decade we could be looking at around USD 50 billion,” Markous said. The civil engineer also reflected on the recognition itself: “Receiving this award is a great source of pride, both for Tecpetrol and for me personally.”

Investment, infrastructure, and outlook

Tecpetrol’s industrial model is built around an integrated approach that spans the entire energy value chain, from exploration and production through to transport and distribution. This allows the company to coordinate its operations more effectively and strengthen its competitiveness in a changing market.

The award also comes at a significant moment for Tecpetrol, as the company moves ahead with its growth plan. More than USD 1.1 billion has been earmarked for investment in new capabilities and infrastructure to support the development of its projects.

The Fortuna Awards are based on a detailed analysis of the financial statements of leading companies across key sectors of the economy, including energy, automotive, banking, food, and telecommunications.
