What Tecpetrol employees value most: leadership, autonomy, and professional growth
The 2026 Climate Survey highlights the role of strategic clarity, trusted leadership and team autonomy in supporting professional development across the organization.
Confidence in senior management and flexible working arrangements are among the aspects most highly valued by Tecpetrol employees, according to the latest Climate Survey results. The survey is designed to provide a clearer understanding of how employees experience the organization. “Listening to our people is what keeps Human Resources moving forward,” says María Laura García, Tecpetrol’s Chief Human Resources Officer.
The findings show that employees place particular value on the credibility of their leaders and the company’s strategic direction. Eighty percent of respondents said they trust the management team to make the right decisions for the business, up almost 10 percentage points from 71% in 2024.
“People are proud to be part of Tecpetrol and have confidence in the management team,” García says. “That’s particularly encouraging because it shows they believe the company is moving in the right direction.”
Another defining feature of Tecpetrol’s working environment is the relationship employees build with their direct managers. Seventy-seven percent of respondents said they are able to agree on flexible and effective working arrangements with their manager under the company’s Flexibility Program, which is designed to help employees balance their professional and personal responsibilities. This result was also 10 percentage points higher than in 2024.
María Eugenia Aniasi, Principal Exploration Geophysicist Principal and a member of Tecpetrol’s Change Governance team, says that: “It's very encouraging to see how comfortable people feel with their managers,” she says. “To me, that's a reflection of the trust we've built and the open conversations we have every day. Those relationships show that people are relaxed and calm at work.”
Carlos Mamaní, Operations and Engineering Senior Director and also a member of the Change Governance team, points out that “Motivation is high because people feel they are part of a company that creates value, and that their own contribution makes a genuine difference,” he says.
Overall, the latest results show clear progress across several of the company’s key workplace indicators. By examining these trends, Tecpetrol can identify where further action is needed while continuing to strengthen a working environment built on clear direction, flexibility, continuous learning and a shared sense of purpose.
