Tecpetrol at the Argentina Oil & Gas Exhibition: Industry meet
The latest edition of the Argentina Oil & Gas Exhibition is the top regional event for the sector. Find out how Tecpetrol is involved.
Organized every two years by the Argentine Oil and Gas Institute (IAPG), the Argentina Oil & Gas Expo is the most important regional event on the hydrocarbons calendar. This year sees the thirteenth edition taking place from March 20 to 23 at the Rural exhibition center in the city of Buenos Aires. After in-person activity was forced to stop by the pandemic, this is now one of the most highly anticipated face-to-face events on the industry’s agenda.
"We are delighted to be holding this exhibition once again, as finally, the top players in the sector will be able to meet up again in person, after so many meetings online. They’ll be here, not only to share their experiences of these unusual months, but also to present the latest technologies, exchange ideas about the future of the industry, and build business networks," said Ernesto López Anadón, president of the IAPG, in his welcoming remarks.

Tecpetrol's participation in the Exhibition
The CEO Talks are already a classic at the AOG, featuring company leaders and their vision and opinions on the present and future of the industry. On Monday 21 at 5 p.m. in the Red Pavilion Auditorium, Ricardo Markous and Javier Martínez Álvarez, president of the Southern Cone of Tenaris, will be discussing the current challenges facing the sector.
The Exhibition is also an opportunity for the IAPG Reserves Production and Development Commission to hold two conferences on Natural Gas and Unconventional Gas. Horacio Marín, General Director of Exploration and Production, will be taking part in the panel on unconventional production and exploration, on March 22 from 2 to 4 p.m.
The second conference includes a session entitled "From pilot project to widespread growth in the unconventional sector in Argentina," where Matías Farina, Drilling and Workover manager, will be sharing his view as a panelist about the road to excellence and efficiency in the development of Vaca Muerta.
The Exhibition is also targeting the next generation with its fifth edition of Jóvenes Oil T& Gas (JOG), this year under the theme of "Adding energy for the future", on Monday, March 22. The Youth Oil & Gas Conference has been planned and organized by the younger members of the oil and gas industry for their peers and will be covering highly relevant topics such as sustainability, career development, innovation, and technology. In the morning, Daniel Valencio, our Exploration and Development director, will be speaking on the unconventional sector during the Upstream session.
Visitors are warmly encouraged to visit Tecpetrol's disruptive stand, specially selected by the IAPG youth commission following an open selection process. Highlights include a solar panel for charging cell phone batteries, interactive games, and a range of different educational activities to explain everything you need to know about lithium processing developed together with students from one of the technical schools taking part in our Technical Gene educational program.

Tecpetrol, Tenaris and Techint: our stand
As in past editions, Tecpetrol will be joining its sister companies Tenaris and Techint Engineering & Construction at the Group’s stand in the Central Pavilion. "The idea behind this stand was to display something 100% technological," says Rocío Leiguarda, from the Tecpetrol Communications team.
Dominated by a central screen, the stand features an arch or belt made up of eight different screens, each running different stories about the work of the companies. There’s also an interactive touch-screen game about energy, where the winners get to take home a board game specially designed by Tecpetrol to test and develop knowledge about the energy transition in a fun way.
