Gas & Power

Pesqueria Power Plant

  • Power generation for Mexico

Tecpetrol has been leading work to build a combined-cycle power plant with a configuration of one steam and three gas turbines on the outskirts of Monterrey, Mexico.

With a one-billion-dollar investment, the 900-megawatt plant was commissioned in December 2016 to supply electricity to Ternium and Tenaris facilities in the country.

The project was developed integrally by several of the Techint Group companies working together, such as Tecpetrol, Ternium and TenarisTamsa, and was built by Techint Engineering & Construction.

Today, the Pesquería Power Plant neighbors the Ternium Industrial Center in Pesquería, and is one of the foremost projects driving development in this municipality.
