Alpha Lithium is a mining company focused on lithium production in Argentina’s so-called Lithium Triangle.

A wholly owned subsidiary of Tecpetrol, the company was acquired in 2022 and holds a portfolio of more than 50,000 hectares.

Backed by solid industry experience and a strong commitment to sustainable mining practices, Alpha Lithium aims to meet the growing demand for lithium, a key material in electric vehicle batteries and energy storage systems.

Alpha Lithium projects

  • El Tolillar

    • Project area: 27,000 hectares in El Tolillar, Salta, at 3,650 meters above sea level
    • Lithium concentration: 270 mg/l.
    • Project status: Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS).
    • Infrastructure: 23 wells drilled with onsite camp & facilities.
    • Development objective: Industrial-scale project producing 30 kilotonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) using direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology.
    • Pilot plant: DLE pilot plant with an output capacity of 25 tons of LCE per year.

    Hombre Muerto

    • Project area: 12,000 hectares in Salar del Hombre Muerto, Salta, at 4,000 meters above sea level.
    • Lithium concentration: 800 mg/l.
    • Project status: Advanced exploration stage.
    • Infrastructure: 2 wells drilled.
    • Development objective: : Industrial-scale project producing 40 ktpa LCE.

    Guayatayoc

    • Project area: 5,000 hectares in Salar de Guayatayoc, Jujuy, at 3,400 meters above sea level.
    • Project status: Initial exploration stage.
    • This is the largest hydrogeological basin in the Puna region.

    Arizaro

    • Project area: 6,000 hectares in Salar de Arizaro, Salta, at 3,475 meters above sea level.
    • Project status: Initial exploration stage.
